Germany allocated 4.5 million euros to improve access to financial resources in rural areas of Tajikistan
An Agreement on extending loan facility to improve access to financial resources in rural areas of Tajikistan has been signed between the Tajik Ministry of Economic Development and microfinance organizations “Arvand”, “Humo & Partners”, “Oxus” and “Fenix+”.
As it is reported to "AP" by the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade loansprovided to these organizations in the total amount of of 4.5 million euros are allocated by the German Government on a grant basis.
Reportedly the funds were received in accordance with the agreements reached during the inter-Tajik- Germany talks held in Bonn in 2010.
"The German government has provided aid to Tajikistan in the framework of the project" Development of the financial system in rural areas, "- said the ministry. - The program aims at strengthening the microfinance sector in the system through the support of micro, small and medium-sized microfinance institutions. The purpose of this project is improving access to financial resources."
It is expected that funding from Germany in the framework of this project will continue in the future.
