History of  CJSC  Bank "Arvand". How it started?

Centre for Development and Support of Microentrepreneurs (MDTM) was established by the international organization ACDI / VOCA in 2002 as part of a regional project on microfinance in the Fergana Valley. ACDI / VOCA signed a corporate agreement with the US Agency for International Development (USAID) in October, 2001 for the implementation and management of project within the framework of Program on Stabilization and Food Security. Initially, the project was planned for 4 years, but it was extended until July 31, 2006.

In March 2002 ACDI / VOCA completed the process of hiring and training of staff and on March 31, the first loans were issued for five groups in Khujand. At that time, only 12 people worked at the project. The methodology that ACDI / VOCA used in the development of the local organization was founded on the basis of the two other successful programs implemented in Central Asia by ACDI / VOCA:
• Kazakhstan Loan Fund (KLF), www.kclf.kz

• Financial Fund Bai Tushum (FFBT) in Kyrgyzstan, www.baitushum.kg

In January 2003, MDTM was officially registered as public association at the regional level in the Office of Justice of Sughd region.

MDTM opened sub-offices in the various districts of Sughd region. The first sub-offices were opened in urban village Nau of Spitamen district and urban village Proletarsk of J. Rasulov district in January, 2003. In August, 2003 the sub-office was opened in Istaravshan. In February and December, 2004 the sub-offices were opened in Buston of Mastcha district and in Isfara.
